It's Cameron County Fair time

Cameron County Fair Association has announced the schedule for this year's fair, which moves into full swing on Monday. See a special section of this week's Endeavor News.

As a warm-up to this year's fair, a musical vesper service will be held at 7:00 Sunday night. Love Gospel Singing, along with Randy Simpson and the trio About Him, will sing and share their faith.

Opening and dedication of the fair will be held on Monday evening at 6. This year's fair is being held in memory of two long-time board members, Don Williams and Sandra Lyon. Their influences continue to be seen throughout the fair and grounds.

Essence of Motion Dance Studio will be performing on the stage Monday evening, as well as the local band Legacy. Also being held on Monday is the Don Williams Memorial All-American Game Show.

Tuesday's entertainment will include the Lip Sync Contest, the magic and comedy of Denny Hubler and the popular battle of the barrel.

On Wednesday, Miss Cameron County, Victoria Lippert, will crown the new queen. Junior Miss and the Prince and Princess will be named too.

Nuttin' Fancy DJ and Karaoke will be set up after the ceremony. Howard Mincone, the Mime to Amaze, will be strolling the grounds with juggling and tricks.

Glenn Lucas and Family will take the stage on Thursday night. Many contests and games are also being planned.

On Friday evening, Old Skool will perform after another round of audienceparticipation games.

Saturday morning, Aug. 11, the annual Harvey Gribble Memorial Horseshoe Tournament will be held in four categories.

Throughout the week, many organizations will be set up on the fairgrounds. Emergency services volunteers will be honored on Tuesday night. Firefighters and ambulance personnel have been invited to bring their equipment and answer questions from the public. Fire companies will also compete in the Battle of the Barrel.
