Family caregiver luncheon Nov. 13

Potter County Area Agency on Aging will host the annual Family Caregiver Luncheon starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Potato City Country Inn on Route 6 East between Coudersport and Galeton.

The event is intended to provide pre-holiday relaxation for those who care for older relatives or friends. Caregivers can spend a couple of hours enjoying a meal, talking with other caregivers and listening to guest speaker, Debbie McKee.

She is facilitator/educator for the Alzheimer's Association and Sweden Valley Manor's activities director.

McKee will discuss Alzheimer's disease and provide caregiving tips, especially pertinent to the holidays. The menu includes salad, stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, corn, dessert and a beverage.

November is National Family Caregiver Month. It is designed to recognize caregivers for the difficult jobs they perform.

The luncheon is free. Reservations are required. Contact Rhoda Weimer or Donna Foust at the Potter County Area Agency on Aging no later than Nov. 5.
