Pesticide update meeting Monday

A meeting to share information on the latest trends in pesticide use is scheduled for Monday in Coudersport. Local pesticide applicators and others with an interest in the topic are encouraged to attend and can register by calling the Cooperative Extension office of Potter County at 274- 8540.

The meeting, which will be worth two core and three category pesticide update credits for private applicators to maintain their certification, will be held at the Cooperative Extension Office, starting at 7 pm.

Tom Butzler, Extension educator from Clinton County, will present a vegetable update and information on colony collapse disorder in bees. Craig Williams, Tioga County Extension educator, will give a farm insurance update.

Also, Bill Waltman from the Potter County Extension Office will speak on soils and climate issues and cover crops. Jim Clark, McKean County Extension educator, will talk about the safety and stability of pesticide containers.
