Road access granted for deer season

District Forester Jeanne Wambuagh from the Emporium office has announced that the following Elk State Forest roads will be opened to motorized vehicles from Monday, Nov. 28, through Saturday, Dec, 10:

--Arskill Road, gate 104; Bauer Hollow Road, gate 1 to gate 2; Berge Run Road, gate 137; Boundaryline Road; Briggs Hollow Road, gate 57 to gate 58; County Line Road; Deer Pen Road, gate 56 to barricade; Doe Run Road; Elk Fork Road; Frog Camp Hollow Road; GBS, gate 112; Gilmore Trail, gate 249; Hackett Trail, gate 5; Logue Run Road, gate 134; McDonald Road, gate 222 to gate 223.

--Also, Miss Oula Road, gate 60 on Straight Creek to barricade; Norcross Road, gate 131 to barricade; North Fork Road, gate 61 to State Forest Boundary; Ospect Road; Patterson Hollow Road, gate 214; Short Road; Sleepy Hollow Road, gate 224; South Fork Road, gate 69; Stillhouse Ridge Road, gate 127; Sugar Run Road; Switchback Trail; Wellendorf Station Road; Whitehead Fire Road, gate 133; and Whittaker Road, gate 62

The roads above are seasonal roads, constructed for the removal of timber, and may not support heavy traffic under unusually wet, muddy conditions. If unfavorable weather conditions exist and road condition deteriorate, the roads may be closed.
