Falling Leaves Festival on tap

Falling Leaves Festival is on tap next weekend in downtown Coudersport.

It’s highlighted by a parade at 3 pm Saturday (Oct. 6), live music, a magic show, children’s games and a broad array of concessions.

Activities kick off at 9 am Friday when food and novelty booths open at the courthouse square. A carnival and kiddie rides will be in operation. Capping off the Friday schedule is a karaoke contest at the gazebo at 6 pm.

Things really kick into gear on Saturday at 9, when the activities at the square resume. A car show is scheduled from 10 to 2. Potter County Historical Society will hold an open house from 10 to 2 and offer guided walking tours of notable sites in town at 10 and noon.

An addition this year is a magic show, sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, in the gazebo at 11, 2 and 4.

The popular pat parade is scheduled for noon, also at the gazebo.

In and around the square, there will be pumpkin painting, chainsaw carving demonstrations, a photo booth courtesy of Curt Weinhold, live music by the popular Freddy and the Jets and others, and live demonstrations of martial arts, cheerleading, gymnastics and other youth activities.

Vendor booths are still available; call 814-203- 1134. Parade registrants are being accepted through the Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce website, coudersport.org.
