Several drug cases come to court

A head-on collision last weekend on Rt. 155, near the intersection of Rt. 446 in Eldred Township, claimed the life of a Turtlepoint woman and resulted in injuries for three Wisconsin residents. Sandra Dianne Reyes (Mc- Fall), 41, was flown to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y., where she was pronounced dead a few hours after the Dec. 28 crash at 5:15 am.

She was the driver of a southbound 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor that crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Ford Fusion. Sonnie A. Brockwell, 43, of Beloit, driver of the Ford, was transported by ambulance to Olean General Hospital, as was a juvenile passenger. Elizabeth M. Brockwell, 43, also of Beloit, was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of serious injuries. She is the daughter of John and Jean Mallery of Port Allegany.

Charged with rape

A Westfield man was committed to Potter County Jail in lieu of bail after he was arrested by state police for allegedly raping a 27- year-old female at a private residence in Mills and then threatening to harm her if she told anyone.

William Thomas White, 33, is charged with rape and aggravated assault, both felonies, as well as three related misdemeanors. Police said the incident occurred Dec. 31, between 9:30 and 11:30, after White entered the victim’s residence and threatened her at knifepoint.

Car runs into tree

A Coudersport woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Genesee Township.

State police said Erikka Long was going west on the Ellisburg Road when she drove through the intersection with Commercial Street and hit a road sign and a tree head on. She was not wearing a seat belt. Long was admitted to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, N.Y.

Telephone scam

State police are probing a phone scam victimizing a Burtville woman.

Doris Major received phone calls last week from a man who informed her that she had won a car and a large amount of money. To claim her prize, she was asked to share her credit card personal identification number with the caller.

Harassment charge

A Ulysses resident has been charged with harassment stemming from an altercation allegedly taking place Christmas night at a home along Rt. 6 in Ulysses Township involving a male victim. The charge was lodged against 19-year-old Benjamin Polz.

Store burglarized

A burglary at Missy’s Market in Harrison Valley remains under investigation by state police at Denton Hill. Someone broke into the store shortly before 3 am last Thursday and stole various items.

ATV stolen

State police are investigating the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a Roulette residence. The red 2003 Suzuki Quad 80 belongs to Russell Falk and was taken from his Maple Street home between Dec. 10 and Dec. 13.

Speeding charged

Speeding charges have been filed against a Ulysses driver whose pickup truck wrecked last Thursday afternoon in Bingham Township. Police said Lynn Harmon lost control on a slight left curve at the intersection of Hamilton and Bunnell roads. The truck went off the road and rolled onto the passenger side.

Three hurt in crash

A St. Marys woman and two of passengers were taken to Elk Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries following a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Sizerville Road in Portage Township, Cameron County.

State police said Christina Boyd was going north when her car slid out of control on the snow- and ice-covered road and hit a guardrail. Boyd and her passengers, Sara Sallade of Emporium and a young female whose name was not released, were all using proper restraints.
