A serenity garden on the north side of Coudersport’s First United Presbyterian Church will be dedicated at 1 pm Sunday, Oct. 5, in a brief ceremony that’s open to the public. It’s a memorial to the church’s organist and music director, Darlene Sitler, who died in December 2012. Church leaders developed the garden as a place of rest and reflection for all. It includes curved granite benches, an inscribed memorial stone, concrete walkways, and a myriad of plants and flowers. Dessert will be served following the dedication ceremony.
