A steady stream of friends, co-workers and other well-wishers showed up at a retirement party for Coudersport Borough Public Works Director Lou Karija (left), shown with local businessman Gary Buchsen. Karija closed out 14 years of service to the borough. He is known to many as a kettle corn vendor at many area festivals. Lou and wife Linda intend to remain in the area. They plan to travel and pursue many items on their “bucket lists.” Among attendees at last week’s party was Gary Walaski, who retired earlier this year after many years of employment with Public Works Department.
