A family tradition in Cameron County has spread to a third generation with the arrival of Joseph A. Malizia to join the Emporium-based law firm, Malizia & Malizia P.C.

He was recently welcomed by his father, long-time local lawyer and former Cameron County District Attorney Paul J. Malizia. The firm was founded in 1976 by Joe’s grandfather, the late Joseph J. Malizia.

Joe has had a busy life since he graduated from Cameron County High School in 2002. He’s a 2007 graduate of Edinboro University and was awarded his law degree from the Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law. He passed the bar exam and was licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania in 2011. Most recently, he graduated from the Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps University.

Malizia served as a judge advocate in the Marine Corps from 2012 to 2017. His tour of duty included time at the headquarters of the Marine Corps, Pentagon, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, and finally at the corps’ base in Quantico, Va.

He served in various legal capacities, including a criminal defense attorney and legal assistance attorney in Okinawa, as well as the deputy legal advisor to the Commanding General of Education Command in Quantico.

Joe left the Marine Corps this past June at the rank of captain.

Malizia & Malizia is a general practice which includes, but is not limited to, criminal defense, business, contracts, employment disputes, appellate practice, wills, trusts, estate planning and probate, real estate, and civil litigation.
