An Austin Area School graduate and volunteer firefighter who has been overcoming obstacles for more than two decades enjoyed a “Hunt of a Lifetime” – literally – just before Christmas on a ranch in Colorado. Terad Howard and his parents, Therese and Mike Tumas, made the trip under the auspices of Hunt of a Lifetime, a non-profit organization with a mission to grant hunting and fishing dreams for young people who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Terad was born with spina bifida. Through more than 20 operations and adaptations, he has maintained a positive attitude. His Colorado guided hunt lived up to its name when he connected with this elk which weighed 725 and had a 5-by-7 rack.
