As the borough manager of Coudersport for 28 years, Marlin Dale “Mud” Moore (second from right) often had occasion to promote small-town living. It wasn’t until a couple years after he retired that Moore gained an even deeper appreciation for the community. A spaghetti dinner for his benefit at the St. Eulalia Catholic Church Parish Center drew about 300 well-wishers. Moore is recovering from cancer treatment and surgeries. The gathering also gave him and his wife June (holding his granddaughter Emberlee Wilcher) a chance to hang out with old friends such as Gary Snyder (left) and Charlie Moyer of Ebensburg.
