Robert G. Eastman

Robert G. Eastman, 85, of Ulysses, died Feb. 2, 2018, in his home. Born in Hop Bottom, he was the son of George E. and Ruth I. Whitman Eastman. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. In 1960, he married Rosalind Scott. Bob was employed for many years. He was a member of the Potter County Honor Guard and was active in veterans’ affairs. He was also active with the Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Association, as well as Masonic affairs. Among survivors are his wife; four daughters, Kally L. Eastman, Cindy L. White, Kathy A. Clark and Bobbi Jo Narron; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, handled arrangements. Burial was in Ulysses Cemetery.

Michael M. Young

Michael M. Young, 61, of Bingham Center, died Feb. 1, 2018 in his home. Born in Wellsville, N.Y., he was the son of Byron M. and Marion D. Barrett Young. In 1974, he married Cheryl A. Blair. Mike was employed by Morgan Advanced Materials in Coudersport and served on the Bingham Township Board of Supervisors. Among survivors are his wife; two daughters, Jaime Stiles of Eldred and Pamela Seifert of Fredericksburg, Va; and four grandchildren. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, handled arrangements. Burial was in North Bingham Cemetery.

Kenneth M. Kelso

Kenneth M. Kelso, 82, of Driftwood, died Dec. 26, 2017, at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys. He was born in Canonsburg, a son of Kenneth C. and Clara Mae Plance Kelso. A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a systems technician for Bell Telephone Co. in Washington, Pa., for nearly 40 years before moving to Driftwood. He was a member of local veterans’, fraternal and sportsmen’s organizations. Barnett Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Bradley A. Phillips

Bradley A. Phillips, 62, of Kenmore, N.Y., died Feb. 1, 2018, in Buffalo (N.Y.) General Hospital. Born in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Walter F. and Beverly J. Wilson Phillips. His family has roots in the Shinglehouse area. Among survivors are four siblings, Lorrie R. Rigby, Karen J. Vineyard, Rodney S. Phillips and David C. Phillips. A graveside burial service will be held in the East Sharon Cemetery. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, is handling arrangements.

Henry J. Sustakoski

Henry J. Sustakoski, 89, of Kenmore, N.Y., died Feb. 2, 2018, in Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, Clarence, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a high school English and journalism teacher. He later served as a professor and English Department chair at Buffalo (N.Y.) State University. Among survivors are three nieces, Jerri Olmstead, Janet Dunsmore, and Helen Payne, all of Shinglehouse; and four nephews. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home handled arrangements.
