PGC planning six-day bear season

A six-day bear season in parts of Potter, Tioga and McKean counties has received preliminary approval by the Pa. Game Commission.

It’s proposed to reduce bear populations in Wildlife Management Unit 3A, which includes all of the three counties north of Rt. 6.

Also the agency is proposing a split, five-day antlered deer season (Nov. 26-Nov. 30) and seven-day concurrent season (Dec. 1-8) in the northcentral counties.
