Responders were summoned to Twin Tier Linen, owned by Alex and Kari Drabert Johnson, on North East Street just before 5 pm Wednesday after witnesses saw smoke billowing from the structure and heard explosions inside the building. Firefighters worked to knock down the flames and protect a neighboring home, which was also damaged. Coudersport Fire Chief Bryan Phelps reported that the Twin Tiers property was fully insured. There was no word at press time on whether the Johnsons will rebuild. Coudersport firefighters were joined by volunteers from Roulette, Austin, Port Allegany, Galeton and Shinglehouse, as well as other emergency responders. Residents of the adjacent home were evacuated and responders set up a safety zone as high-voltage lines dangled overhead. Firefighters attacked the blaze from both inside and outside the structure. A volunteer fireman from Roulette sustained minor injuries.
