Sweet maple weekend on tap


Some 17 operators in Potter and Tioga counties are welcoming visitors for the 14th annual Maple Weekend. Sherry Ianson was tending the griddle at Brydonson Farm on Ayers Hill last weekend. Syrup producers are preparing for the annual Maple Weekend at 17 sites in Potter and Tioga counties. Open houses are on tap from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18.

They’ll offer tours, demonstrations and maple products, as well as stories and a description of processes used to produce syrup.

Some of them will be serving breakfast. Many offer specialty maple products, such as salad dressing, barbecue sauce, jellies, cookies, milkshakes and cotton candy.

Potter/Tioga Maple Producers Assn. sponsors the tour. Details can be found on the website, pamaple.com.
