Joyce L. Nelson

Joyce L. Nelson, 59, of Coudersport, died Feb. 28, 2018, in Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital. Born in Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of John and Masako Tsuha Vannatter. In 1973, she married Richard C. Nelson. She was employed by Cole Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide and switchboard operator, and as a seamstress by C&J Blouse Co. Among survivors are her husband; five children, Richard C. Nelson Jr. of Coudersport, Clayton Nelson of Coudersport, Kasandra Nelson of Shinglehouse, Emalee Boldt of Shinglehouse and Garrett Nelson of Coudersport; 17 grandchildren; and four siblings, Keiko Sutton of Galeton, Robert Vannatter of Mills, James Vannatter of Blossburg, and Jessie Vannatter of Franklin, Ohio. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, handled arrangements.

Richard C. Sherwood

Richard C. Sherwood, 69, of Port Allegany, died March 5, 2018, in the Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital. He was born in Port Allegany, a son of Llewellyn and Grace Chase Sherwood. In 1990, he married Marilyn K. Taylor. He was formerly employed as a machine operator by Ardagh Group. Among survivors are his wife; six daughters, Calee Phelps of Coudersport, Shelly Morey of Roulette, Holly Sherwood of Coudersport, Cheri Tubbs of Coudersport, Kristie Miles of Port Allegany, and Nicole De- Haven of Florida; a son, Richard J. Sherwood of Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven siblings, Donna VanSickles of Port Allegany, Debbie Montes of Iowa, Diane Sherwood Metzler of Beaver Falls, James Sherwood of Arizona, Thomas Sherwood of Coudersport, Denny Sherwood of North Carolina, and Perry Hanchett of Port Allegany. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Saturday, March 10, at the Alliance Church in Port Allegany, with services to follow. Burial will be in the Card Creek Cemetery. Hartle- Tarbox Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.

Stephen R. Dilick

Stephen R. Dilick, 54, of Coudersport, formerly of Millville, died Feb. 19, 2018, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash. He was born in Natrona Heights, a son of Gabriel and Betty J. (Dougherty) Dilick. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a registered nurse. In 2016, he married Jeanette Rowello. Among survivors are his wife; his mother; a daughter, Sydney Dilick; and a sister, Theresa Petrie.
